Last Updated: September 2026

Welcome to SKS Culinary Academy. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website, services, courses, workshops, training programmes, admission process and related services.

By accessing or using our website, submitting an enquiry, downloading an admission form, registering for a course, making a payment, or attending any class, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms & Conditions, please do not use this website or enrol in any course or programme offered by SKS Culinary Academy.

1. About SKS Culinary Academy

SKS Culinary Academy provides culinary, cooking, baking, bakery, cake decoration, confectionery and related training programmes, workshops and educational services.

The Academy may offer courses of different durations and formats, including short-term workshops, specialised courses, certificate/diploma-oriented programmes, customised courses and professional culinary programmes.

Course availability, duration, curriculum, timings, fees, facilities and other details may vary from one course or batch to another.

2. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to:

  • Visitors to the SKS Culinary Academy website.

  • Students and prospective students.

  • Parents or guardians registering students where applicable.

  • Individuals enrolling in workshops or short-term classes.

  • Individuals making payments or deposits towards a course.

  • Individuals participating in Academy events or activities.

  • Users submitting enquiry or admission forms.

Submitting an admission or enquiry form does not automatically guarantee admission. Admission is subject to confirmation by SKS Culinary Academy.

3. Course Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on our website is accurate and current.

However:

  • Course schedules may change.

  • Course modules may be modified.

  • Particular dishes, recipes or topics may be substituted depending on ingredient availability, seasonality, market availability, equipment, instructor availability or other operational requirements.

  • Images shown on the website may be illustrative and may not represent the exact outcome of a student's preparation.

  • The Academy may update, modify or discontinue a course or workshop when reasonably necessary.

  • Course duration and class timings may vary between batches.

Where a course specifically states that varieties or items may change according to availability, students acknowledge and accept such variations.

4. Admission and Enrolment

Admission is subject to availability of seats and acceptance by SKS Culinary Academy.

The Academy reserves the right to:

  • Accept or reject an admission application.

  • Determine batch allocation.

  • Change a student's batch where operationally necessary.

  • Refuse admission where the information provided by an applicant is inaccurate or misleading.

  • Cancel an admission in cases involving misconduct, non-payment or violation of Academy rules.

Students are responsible for providing accurate contact, identification and other information requested during admission.

If a student is below the applicable age required for a particular course or activity, enrolment may require consent from a parent or legal guardian.

5. Course Fees

Course fees are communicated on the relevant course page, admission material, quotation or other official communication issued by SKS Culinary Academy.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Fees are payable according to the payment schedule communicated at the time of admission.

  • Registration charges, kits, materials, taxes or other charges may be separate where specified.

  • Fees for different courses may vary.

  • Fees paid for one course cannot automatically be transferred to another course.

  • Any applicable taxes or government levies may be charged in addition to the advertised fee where legally applicable.

Students should confirm the applicable fee and inclusions before making payment.

6. Registration Fee, Deposit and Advance Payments

Where a registration fee, booking amount, deposit or advance payment is required, the amount and applicable conditions will be communicated to the student before enrolment.

Payment of a registration amount or booking amount may be treated as confirmation of the student's intention to reserve a place in a particular course or batch.

Unless specifically confirmed in writing by SKS Culinary Academy, registration or booking amounts are non-refundable.

7. Refund and Cancellation Policy

Because culinary courses require advance planning, instructor allocation, ingredients, equipment, classroom capacity and other arrangements, cancellations may result in costs to the Academy.

Accordingly:

7.1 Cancellation by Student

A student who wishes to cancel their enrolment should submit the request to SKS Culinary Academy in writing.

Refund eligibility, if any, will depend on:

  • The course booked.

  • The amount already paid.

  • The date on which cancellation is requested.

  • Whether the course or batch has already commenced.

  • Whether materials, kits or ingredients have already been purchased or allocated.

Unless a different written refund policy has been communicated for a particular course, registration/booking charges and amounts relating to already supplied materials, kits or services are non-refundable.

7.2 After Course Commencement

Once a course, workshop or training programme has commenced, fees paid are generally non-refundable.

Non-attendance by a student does not automatically create a right to a refund.

7.3 Cancellation or Rescheduling by the Academy

SKS Culinary Academy reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, modify or cancel a class, batch or programme because of circumstances including insufficient enrolment, instructor availability, operational requirements, equipment issues, unforeseen events or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Where the Academy cancels a programme, the Academy may, at its discretion:

  • Offer an alternative batch.

  • Offer a rescheduled session.

  • Provide a credit/adjustment against another programme.

  • Provide a refund of eligible amounts, where applicable.

The remedy offered will depend on the circumstances and the applicable course-specific policy.

8. Transfer of Course or Seat

A student's admission or course seat may not be transferred to another person without prior written approval from SKS Culinary Academy.

The Academy may refuse a transfer request where:

  • The course has already commenced.

  • The replacement student does not satisfy course requirements.

  • Materials or kits have already been issued.

  • The requested transfer would interfere with batch capacity or administration.

9. Batch Changes and Rescheduling

Students should attend the batch and timings assigned to them.

Requests for changing batches, dates or timings are subject to availability and Academy approval.

The Academy does not guarantee that a requested alternative batch will be available.

Repeated requests for changes may be refused.

10. Attendance

Students are expected to attend classes regularly and arrive on time.

Students acknowledge that culinary education involves practical and hands-on training. Missing classes may result in the student missing demonstrations, practical sessions, techniques or recipes that may not be repeated individually.

The Academy is not obligated to provide private catch-up sessions for missed classes unless specifically agreed.

Absence from a class does not automatically entitle a student to a refund, fee reduction or extension of course duration.

11. Practical Training and Course Materials

Depending on the course, SKS Culinary Academy may provide ingredients, equipment, recipe booklets, printed material, kits or other learning resources as specified in the course description.

Where course materials are stated to be included:

  • The exact contents may vary.

  • Ingredients may vary according to availability.

  • Certain materials may be supplied for use during class only.

  • Materials may not necessarily be provided for every missed class.

  • Students may be required to bring certain personal items or equipment where notified in advance.

The Academy reserves the right to make reasonable substitutions where ingredients, equipment or materials are unavailable.

12. Food Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Students must inform SKS Culinary Academy in advance about any known food allergy, intolerance, dietary restriction or other relevant food-related requirement.

Culinary training may involve exposure to ingredients including, but not limited to:

  • Dairy

  • Eggs

  • Wheat/gluten

  • Nuts

  • Peanuts

  • Soy

  • Sesame

  • Seafood

  • Meat

  • Spices

  • Other potential allergens

The Academy will take reasonable precautions when information is provided in advance, but students understand that a professional kitchen environment may involve cross-contact or exposure to ingredients.

Students are responsible for communicating relevant allergies and dietary restrictions before participating in practical sessions.

13. Food Safety and Hygiene

Students must follow all food-safety, hygiene and kitchen-safety instructions given by instructors and Academy staff.

Students may be required to:

  • Wash hands appropriately.

  • Use equipment only as instructed.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas.

  • Follow instructions concerning storage and disposal of food.

  • Comply with all kitchen safety procedures.

Failure to follow safety or hygiene instructions may result in removal from a practical session or other disciplinary action.

14. Use of Kitchen Equipment

Culinary training involves the use of equipment that may include ovens, mixers, knives, burners, hot surfaces, electrical appliances, sharp tools and other kitchen equipment.

Students must use all equipment responsibly and only after receiving appropriate instructions.

Students must immediately report damaged equipment, accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to Academy staff.

The Academy shall not be responsible for injuries, losses or damage resulting from a student's negligent, reckless or unauthorised use of equipment, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

15. Student Conduct

Students are expected to maintain professional, respectful and safe behaviour.

The following may result in disciplinary action or termination of enrolment:

  • Misuse of photographs, videos or confidential Academy material.

  • Any unlawful activity.

The Academy may take appropriate action depending on the seriousness of the incident.

16. Certificate

Where a particular course includes a certificate, eligibility may depend on successful completion of the applicable programme and compliance with Academy requirements.

A certificate is not necessarily guaranteed merely because a student has paid the course fee.

The Academy may withhold or decline to issue a certificate where a student has:

  • Not completed the required programme.

  • Failed to meet attendance requirements.

  • Failed to complete required practical work.

  • Engaged in serious misconduct.

  • Outstanding fees or other dues.

Certificate availability and format may vary by course.

17. Culinary Trips and External Activities

Certain courses may offer optional culinary trips, professional kitchen visits or external learning activities.

Where such activities are offered:

  • Participation may be optional.

  • Additional charges may apply.

  • Such charges may not be included in the course fee.

  • The Academy may specify minimum participation requirements.

  • Travel, accommodation, food or other expenses may be payable separately unless expressly included.

  • External activities may be subject to availability and third-party arrangements.

The Academy may cancel or modify an external activity where circumstances require.
